Occasionally, Revit users may need to change the Units within the project they are working on. There are two Unit systems you can choose from which are the Metric and Imperial Units. Fortunately, it is possible to change the Units at any given moment without too much effort.
Revit annotations is set to use project units by default. You can change dimension units without changing project units. This allows you to work with millimeters, but show the dimension in meters. Each annotation may store this setting in different location. For dimensions, you can change it in dimension type.
In Revit, you can start with a Metric or Imperial template, which sets the right Project Units for you. No matter what kind of template you begin with, it’s important to know that it’s possible to switch to different units at any given moment. Moreover, you can combine Metric and Imperial Units or set Alternate Units to dimensions.
To modify units globally, access Project Units through the Revit ribbon under the Manage tab, in the Settings panel. Annotations typically default to using project settings unless previously altered. To change level units to meters, select the level head family in the Project Browser, edit it, and adjust the settings.
